Heavy Scaping

Grading, earthwork and heavy landscape construction with skid steers, excavators and loaders.

Licensing note

Landscape earthwork by itself may not require a state contractor license, but local permits can still apply. Ask the crew about permits and insurance.

Typical jobs

  • →Rough and finish grading around new builds
  • →Driveway base and pad preparation
  • →Berms, fill and topsoil spreading
  • →Large planting beds and landscape earthwork

Minnesota notes

  • Sandy soils in much of north-central Minnesota drain fast but wash easily; clay pockets do the opposite. Ask the crew to look at your soil before pricing.
  • Call Gopher State One Call (811) before any digging so buried lines are marked.
  • Work near lakes, rivers or wetlands may need a county shoreland or DNR review first.
