Framing

Residential and light-commercial framing crews for new homes, additions, garages and cabins.

Licensing note

Framing on someone else's home is usually done by, or under, a Minnesota residential building contractor or remodeler license. Ask the crew for their DLI license number.

Typical jobs

  • →Walls, floors and roof framing for new homes and additions
  • →Garage and pole-style outbuilding framing
  • →Cabin and lake-home builds and rebuilds
  • →Window and door rough openings, beams and headers

Minnesota notes

  • Plan around the season: snow loads and short daylight in northern Minnesota change how fast a frame can go up and how long it should sit wrapped.
  • Footings and foundations must be in and inspected first; framing is usually scheduled after site prep, excavation and the foundation pour.
  • Most framing on a home is part of a permitted project, so the permit set and stamped plans (if needed) should be ready before a crew is booked.
